Michelle McCoy is the Founder and Executive Clinical Director of Livewell Behavioral Health Counseling Center. Michelle McCoy earned her Bachelors of Science in Health Science with an Emphasis in Human Services in 1999. She earned her Masters in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2005. Both degrees were earned at California State University, Fresno.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Michelle has extensive experience working with individuals from various multi-cultural and social-economic backgrounds. Her therapeutic approach affords her a unique perspective to work effectively with multi-ethnic and multi-cultural groups. She has extensive knowledge and experience providing therapeutic services for clients who seek similarity through culture. She has over 10 year experience working with men, women, and children with various issues that affect their ability to function on a daily basis. She has experience with the following mental health issues: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, substance abuse, and co-occurring (dual diagnosis) issues, and complex trauma. She has experience with the following relational issues: anger management, parent/child relations, parenting, family communication, marital issues, divorce and blended family issues. Michelle also provides Christian counseling for those individuals and families whose spirituality is used as a foundation for healing.
Michelle works primarily from an Object Relations perspective.
She is also trained and certified to provide EMDR therapy.
