Derric Brown graduated with his Bachelors of Arts in Human Services from California State University of Dominguez Hills in 2012. He earned his Master Degree of Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2014 with an emphasis on Military Social Work. Derric is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the State of California. Derric has 10 years’ experience working in various human service agencies with diverse client populations. His area of expertise is working with Veterans from all eras who suffer from chronic medical and mental health conditions, complex trauma and poly-substance abuse. He has 7 years of experience working with the Veterans population. His expertise also includes working with children and adults who suffer from anxiety and depression. Derric clinical training includes Motivational Interviewing, Problem Solving Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. These experiences have allowed Derric to develop a therapeutic lens that views human development from a biopsychosocial perspective. Furthermore, by employing this biopsychosocial perspective to treatment. Derric is able to develop a therapeutic alliance with individuals struggling with a range of psychosocial issues that include: depression, substance abuse, grief and loss, anxiety, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
