Kathleen Murphy earned both her Bachelors of Art in Social Science and her Master’s Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University College in Orange, California. Her years of specialized training and experience have equipped her with skills in various therapeutic approaches including solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and EMDR. She customizes her approach to meet the needs and presenting problems of her clients and directs their treatment to establish a therapeutic alliance in order to facilitate the bridge to health. She has a background in treating co-occurring disorders (substance abuse treatment and mental health issues). She currently holds an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certification from the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals. Additionally she has specific training on trauma related therapy with an emphasis in PTSD, grief and loss. Kathleen has an engaging spirit with good humor; she is able to engage individuals from various backgrounds in their quest to learn, improve, and emerge as more effective human beings. She is able to see and appreciate her clients personal power, unique gifts, and she is able to assist them seeing the light to their path out of darkness.
